PEO Programs
PEO accounts are becoming more common in today’s market. They offer services that a standard workers compensation market cannot provide. A PEO is a shared employee leasing program designed for blue collar risks. They provide many benefits to the insured so the insured can focus on their primary objective getting their job done. PEO’s companies work with the insured to provide them with payroll, claims, accounting and HR services. There are many benefits to joining a PEO such as:
Real time coverage: There is never an audit or a renewal date. Coverage is based on payroll and is billed per the payroll each week. If the insured has a slow period throughout the year he will only pay for WC coverage based on actual payroll not estimated payroll, therefore there is no audit at the end of the policy term.
Payroll Services: The program conforms to most payroll and accounting software and or practices of the insured. Direct deposit and payroll cards are available.
Claims Procedures: At the time of a claim the employee with report directly to the PEO for claims processing, freeing the business owner to concentrate on business as usual.
No Expiration and Large Down Payments: All accounts have a set up fee at initiation of the program, after this one time set up fee there is no large down payments or renewal fees. The policy never expires as long as the insured turns in a payroll.
Minimum Payrolls: The minimum payroll is $100,000
Experience Modification: The PEO does not use the insured experience mod. If the insured has claims experience with a high mod the PEO eliminates this mod instantly saving the insured money.
Rating: The PEO does not follow state rating and NCCI program guidelines. Naming the rate for each class code gives substantial savings to the insured.
